go to this year's school text book initiative.

Holy Communnion
21stApril 2010 The Sacrament of Holy Communion will take place for 2nd Class Boys on Saturday 8th May 2010.
As in 2009, the Communion Breakfast will be hosted in the Parish Community Centre beside the Foxrock Church. This is a huge advantage
in terms of the logistics of setting up the day’s proceedings and having had our first breakfast there last year, we have revised our ideas on how
to run the morning.
However, this letter is the annual request for help on the morning of the Holy Communion and donations of food.
In terms of helpers we are asking for volunteers who can give two hours of their time from 10:30 onwards. The Parents Association will have
the hall set up beforehand and what we need is people to help with getting tea/coffee and food circulated to the assembled guests after the
formal church proceedings. We expect the morning to be wrapped up by 1:00pm.
In terms of food donations we are looking for snacky type foods that can be eaten while balancing a cup of tea/coffee in one hand while talking
to a fellow communicant parent or family member. We would request both sweet and savoury foods.
If you are in a position to give of your time or can make a donation of food, please give your name and contact details in to the school office for
the attention of Sandra Kealy, Chairperson of the Parent’s Association. An indication of what food you are offering will enable us to get the balance
right between sweet and savoury!
With many thanks,
Sandra Kealy
Chairperson.
Book Fair
The book fair takes place next week (8th to 11th March 2010). This is supported and staffed by the Parents Association. The roster
for the Parents Association is available here.
Santa Day
Photographs of our 2009 Santa Day can be found here.
Sportsblitz
The Sportsblitz has become a popular fixture on the school calendar and takes place in September/October. The idea of the day is
to give the boys exposure to a variety of sporting activities on the day with club, county or provincial players who practice each of the sports, while
raising money at the same time. From a fund-raising perspective the success of the Sportsblitz in the past two/three years has meant that we don’t
have to run multiple events to raise money for our operations and commitments to the school. Thus the Sportsblitz and the Valentine Day’s Cake
sale are the only events we have had to use for fund-raising. The latter event is a permanent fixture on our calendar anyway.
We appreciate that everyone’s circumstances have changed in the current environment but the prospect of having your sons engage in physical
activity while raising funds at the same time means that it is good for them, good for us and good for the wider school community.
The monies raised go towards a variety of different initiatives within the school – supporting the school, its teachers and your sons.
So please give as generously as your circumstances allow and support a good cause.

Parents’ Association AGM.
The Parents’ Association AGM takes place in October. A letter confirming this date will be issued to you shortly. In
addition to reviewing the year past, the meeting will serve to elect a new committee for 2009/10. A number of committee members are standing
down this year and will need to be replaced. We are therefore calling for nominations to the new committee and attached to the formal Notice of
AGM that you will be receiving will be a Nomination Form.
The Parents’ Association meets once a month and organizes a number of events throughout the year – 6th Class Carol Service, Santa Day,
Teachers’ Night, Graduation Evening (6th Class), Sportsblitz, Valentine’s Day Cake Sale, Holy Communion and Confirmation mornings.
The work isn’t particularly onerous but does require a time commitment. We are also interested in having a number of fathers on the committee.
Please consider joining us!
Our next meeting will be Tuesday 27th April at 8:30
